Plenary Session III: Influencing through Influencers

Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Mission Life LiFE is a public movement to mobilize individuals to become 'Pro-Planet People'. In the field of implementing Sustainability, a major challenge has always been to educate people, make them aware about the impact our actions have on society and to adopt better alternatives. The past decade saw the rise of the clan of Influencers.

Digitalization and the far & wide outreach it has on society across all strata is both appealing and appalling. The source of news and information today has a new media in the form of individual opinions circulating as texts, still and dynamic graphics, videos, etc. When misinformation reaches the uninformed, it warrants unthoughtful behavior of inhuman action.

Digital media has influenced and integrated itself everywhere; and has the power to steer the drive towards success or failure of almost about anything. They say there is no such thing as bad publicity. It is also said that without publicity there can be no public spirit, and without public spirit every nation would decay.

Using the power of the outreach of various media, this session intends to bring together popular voices who are ardently promoting and raising awareness of environmental issues, shattering misconceptions and breaking stereotypes.
